The second step in the hierarchy of fodder harvesting is drying, drying and sorting. In order to dry it, depending on the temperature of the region, it should stay under the sun for a few days. After that, the dried fodder should be collected on the ground in the form of a band to be packed. If the hay is left to be harvested as it is, it will stick to the ground and its next collection will be done with shapes.

In order to speed up the drying and sorting of harvested fodder, different machines are used, the most important of which are:

Rake
Rakes are machines that are used to collect several harvested rows and turn them into row , moving and spreading the rowed fodder. Based on this, all kinds of combs have been designed and made, which include solar Rake, rotary Rake and parallel Rake.

The rotary Rakes work parallel to the power axis of the tractor and are not very popular due to their more complex structure.
Currently, wheel rake solar is the most common rake for rowing harvested fodder in Iran, and how to work with this machine will be taught below. The construction of the solar Rake is very simple and usually has four or five suns (circles) on the circumference of these circles, metal and spring fingers.

When the Rake is placed in the working position while advancing by the carrying tractor, the tips of the fingers that are outside the collar come into contact with the fodder and start rotating around the bearing. In this case, the fodder is collected by the fingers and moved to the other side.
The construction of this machine is such that it can be used to line up, spread and move harvested fodder by changing the position of the solar panels in relation to the forward direction.
Hay Conditioners
The Hay Conditioners are machines that crush the freshly harvested forage or in the process of harvesting, so that its moisture content decreases faster. This action causes the fodder stem, which needs more time to dry, to dry at the same time as the fodder leaf, otherwise the fodder leaf, which has a high nutritional value, will dry earlier than other organs and fall on the ground.
The actions that the Hay Conditioners perform on the fodder include: cracking, softening, crushing and tearing the stems of the plant. These actions cause the rapid removal of moisture from the inside of the plant stems, as a result, the drying process is done faster.
The Hay Conditioners are available in self-regulating and stretching types. The Hay Conditioners traction is connected to the tractor and moves from the power transmission axis. While pulling the Hay Conditioners by the tractor and moving the machine forward, fodder is collected from the ground and while passing through the rollers of the Hay Conditioners that rotate counter-clockwise by the power axis of the tractor, it is crushed by the openings of the stripper in the form of The tape falls on the ground.

This machine performs both reaping and threshing operations and ranks the crushed fodder. Of the types of Mower Conditioner, the traction type is more used, but self-driving types are also available.
