The tractor provides the necessary power to operate some machines and agricultural tools. The use of all types of tractors in mechanized agriculture is essential. Knowing the types of tractors helps us to choose the right one in order to reduce the cost and increase the quality and quantity of work. Types of agricultural tractors in terms of application are:

1- General tractors

These tractors are used to do most of the farm work including land preparation, planting, weeding, harvesting, etc. in the farm. The most important features of these agricultural tractors are:

Simplicity and speed in connection with tools

Ability to move quickly in a small radius

The ability to connect and provide the required power for most agricultural tools

These types of tractors have a power of 40 to 400 horsepower depending on the usage.

2- Garden tractor

These tractors are small and medium-sized and are mostly back-breaking with hydraulic steering. This feature enables them to move and work with tools among trees and small fields. These tractors have a power of about 15 to 40 horsepower.

3-Two-wheeled tractors (Tiller)
These tractors have two driving wheels, are controlled by hand and are mostly used in greenhouses, small fields and paddy fields.

4-long chassis tractors

These type of tractors have a long chassis and are used for operations in the growing stage of long-stalked plants such as sugarcane, sorghum and corn.

5-chain wheel tractors

Due to the high contact surface with the ground, chain wheel tractors have a high traction force and prevent excessive soil compaction. These tractors are used in sloping lands to maintain balance and in light lands to avoid sinking into the ground.
