Preparing, driving and transporting the combine

Before the start of the harvest season, the combine must be fully tested, because a combine that has all its parts flawless and healthy, can prevent the creation of exorbitant costs caused by defects during harvest.

Steps to prepare the combine

1- Check the engine oil level in the crankcase and oil in the hydraulic system.

2- Check the coolant level in the radiator.

3- Make sure the fuel tank is full. If the tank is empty in diesel engines, the fuel system will need to be vented.

4-Visit the air filter to clean and replace it properly.

5- Check the brake and brake oil level.

6- Check the clutch and free distance.

7-Visit the bearings on the crankshaft of the straw mowers.

8- Check the tightness of the belts, bolts and power transmission chains.

9- Remove the grease from the sliding clutches and check their tightness.

10- Close the elevators after visiting and making sure they are clean.

11- Grease the combine completely according to the instructions.

12-Make sure that all parts of the combine are clean.

13- Test the tires.

14- Check all the parts that have pins and make sure that the corresponding pins are in place.

Driving and transporting the combine

The way to drive a combine is similar to driving a tractor and it is necessary to get familiar with the starting equipment before driving the combine.

Every driver is obliged to pay enough attention to the driving rules to drive the combine on public roads.

Combine harvesters must be transported over long distances with towing trailers as a traffic load. For this purpose, the cutting unit of the combine must be opened and placed separately on the tow truck.

Pay attention: before turning on the combine, make sure there is enough air in the warehouse and never turn on the combine in a closed place, never tow the combine (especially the hydrostatic combine).

Steps to turn on the combine

1- Put all the drives of the combine in Off mode.

2- The gear should be free.

3- For hydrostatic combines, leave the corresponding lever in the open position and press the clutch pedal all the way in gearbox combines.

4- Leave the hand throttle at idle speed.

5- Put the combine key in the ON position and control the indicator lights according to the workbook.

6-Turn the key clockwise until it is in the Start mode and the engine starts.

7- Release the clutch slowly.

8- Allow the combine to work for several minutes and then start moving.

After starting the engine, make sure that the oil pressure is normal and the warning lights are off.

9- Using the levers in the driver's cabin, engage the various systems of the combine and pay attention to the sounds so that they do not sound unusual.

10- Use the hand throttle to maximize engine speed.

11- Pay attention to the sounds again, and if there is an unusual sound, reduce the distance and look for its cause.

12- Test all available lights.

Shutting down the combine:

1- Release the gear by pressing the clutch pedal.

2- To avoid possible losses, put the manual gas lever in idle mode and keep the engine in that mode for a few minutes.

3- Put the manual gas lever in the closed position and put the switch in the Off position.

Note: Remove the key from the switch to prevent tampering of the combine by non-drivers.

4- Apply the handbrake and follow all the recommendations in the combine driver's manual.

Safety:

1- When starting the movement, make sure that no person or people are near or in front of the combine.
2- Do not keep the start key in the start position for more than 30 seconds to prevent the starter from overheating. If the engine does not start, wait for 2 minutes and then start again.

Steps to move the combine

When the combine is moving, no one other than the driver should sit in a special place, and this place should not be used for carrying goods and goods.

When moving and driving, you should pay attention to the following:

1- The grain tank must be emptied.

2- The wheat discharge pipe should be stretched towards the tank and secured in the place provided for transportation.

3- Raise the stairs of the driver's seat when you have opened the door device (platform).

4- Raise the door device (platform) completely and lock the up and down control lever on the said device.

5- Place the arms of the rear hazard lights of the combine in the transport mode.

6- To move the combine by special trailers for traffic cargo, first raise the cutting platform with hydraulic jacks, and after placing it on the floor of the trailer, move the hydraulic jacks down and separate the cutting platform from the feeder house, then with Using the dock platform or using the dirt platform, guide the combine to the trailer.

If the trailer is short, after placing the cutting platform on the bottom, drive the combine in reverse gear on the trailer.
